The 08,007.41 Phaser 8400 Error
This error often happens after ~10000 pages. If you reach this page counter after the warrenty time you have to pay ~380 Euros for the repair. When does it happen
- The error often occures when you start the "clean white stripes" mode.
- The printer starts to clean itself and then starts to reboot
- After the first reboot cycle it forces you to emtpy the waste tray.
- Then it reboots again and the error shows up.
Help!
Here i describe what i have done to get the printer working again. Please note that you results may vary, and if you do something wrong the warrenty of your printer is lost and/or you have to pay a HUGHE amount to get your printer repaired! (Often more than the price of a new printer.)- I shutdown the printer
- I unplugged ALL cords
- I removed the SIM CARD (right beside the power plug)
- I restarted the printer without the SIM CARD (error message shows up, ignore it!)
- The old error code showed up again.
- I pressed the "i" button and the "red button" in various ways until a page showed up where you can enter a menu to "RESET NVRAM".
- I choosed "reset NVRAM NOW", and the printer hangs.
- I turned the printer off
- I opened the complete front pannel (use the grey handle on the right) and started to turn the small white gears on the left (dont ask me what they do!).
- I removed all the GREEN elements in the printer and put them back into place (i was so lost!)
- I removed the paper tray checked all sensors and put it pack into its place.
- I put the SIM CARD back into its place and let the printer cool down for 1 hour
- I turned the printer on again (LOUND NOISE!!!)
- The printer booted fine!
Conclusion
The printer works perfect now and i saved 380 Euros. Please dont ask me wha i did this or that step...i dont know what i have done but i "repaired" the printer :)Feel free to email me ( mjw@mjw.co.at )if you have questions and/or want to tell me that you "repaired" the printer the same way i did.
